Bio

I’ve spent more than two decades leading R&D, technology, and digital businesses at GE HealthCare, BD, Carl Zeiss Meditec, and Welch Allyn, serving as a company officer at three of them. Earlier in my career, I worked in high tech and aerospace at Sun Microsystems, Peak Technologies, McDonnell Douglas, and the U.S. Air Force.My career has centered on two things: turning around struggling businesses and organizations, and building scalable digital businesses.At Carl Zeiss Meditec, for example, I led ophthalmic diagnostics from decline to growth at three times the market rate while holding R&D intensity flat. We cut development cycles from more than five years to under 18 months, increased annual product launches from six to 19, and built a clinical AI co-innovation network from zero to 220 paying institutions.Across my career, I’ve built digital businesses in six companies and developed and launched more than 150 products. I’ve competed across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, including six years as an expat, and transformed teams and cultures weakened by acquisition integration and years of underperformance into industry leaders at five companies.Today, through Summit Park Advisory, I advise companies, investors, and governments on growth, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
